Terms of use
Effective October 15, 2026Last updated October 15, 2026
1. Agreement
1.1 These Terms of use are an agreement between you and Fortyseven Ventures Pty Ltd (ACN 702 773 591, ABN 83 702 773 591), a company registered in New South Wales, Australia, which operates Busybee.
1.2 These Terms apply to your use of the Service. You accept them when you create an Account. If you use the website or join our waitlist without an Account, clause 18 sets out which of these Terms apply to you, and you accept those by using the website or joining.
1.3 Our Privacy policy forms part of these Terms and explains how we handle your information.
2. Definitions
2.1 In these Terms:
(a) Account means the Busybee account you create to use the Service.
(b) Bank Data means information about your bank accounts and transactions that we receive through Plaid.
(c) Fees means the amounts you pay for a Subscription.
(d) Paid Period means the month or year a Fee covers.
(e) Plaid means Plaid Inc., the service that connects your bank to Busybee.
(f) Service means the Busybee website, web app and apps, and everything we provide through them.
(g) Subscription means a paid plan for the Service that renews at the end of each Paid Period.
(h) we, us and our mean Fortyseven Ventures Pty Ltd, and you and your mean the person who holds the Account.
3. Eligibility
3.1 You may create an Account only if you are at least 18 years old and live in the United States, and you may connect only accounts you hold with a US bank or credit union.
3.2 The Service is for your personal and household use. You must not use it for a business, or to manage the finances of a business.
3.3 You may hold one Account. You may connect only bank accounts that you are entitled to access and to share.
4. Your Account and its security
4.1 Every Account must use a password, or a Google or Apple sign-in, and a second factor, such as a passkey or an authenticator app. You must keep your password, second factor and backup codes secure and must not share them.
4.2 You must tell us promptly at support@busybee.money if you believe someone has used your Account without your permission.
4.3 To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss that results from your failure to keep your password, Google or Apple sign-in, second factor or backup codes secure.
5. Connecting your bank
5.1 Busybee reads the account and transaction data you choose to share. It cannot make payments, move money or change anything at your bank.
5.2 When you connect a bank, you sign in to it through Plaid, on Plaid’s pages or your bank’s own, never ours, and Plaid passes Bank Data from your bank to us. Your bank or Plaid may let you choose which accounts to share. Plaid’s own terms and privacy policy apply to what Plaid does, and we do not control Plaid or your bank.
5.3 The data we can show depends on what your bank makes available and on Plaid’s service. A connection may stop updating until you sign in to your bank again, and we tell you when it does. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for a bank or Plaid being unavailable, except to the extent that we caused or contributed to it.
5.4 You can remove a bank in the Service at any time. When a bank is removed, or its connection is ended at Plaid or at your bank, we delete the Bank Data collected through it as our Privacy policy describes.
6. Information, not advice
6.1 The Service gives you factual information about your own transactions, such as how much you spent in a category, at a merchant or on recurring charges.
6.2 The information does not replace your bank’s own records. It may be delayed, incomplete or different from them, and categories and merchants we identify may be wrong. Check your bank’s records before relying on the information for an important decision.
6.3 Busybee is not financial advice, and it is not investment, tax, legal or credit advice. We are not a bank, and we do not recommend any financial product, such as a bank account, card, loan, insurance or investment. For advice about your circumstances, speak to a qualified professional.
7. Plans and payment
7.1 Busybee has two plans. Busybee costs US$9 a month or US$90 a year, and Busybee Plus costs US$14 a month or US$140 a year. Before you start a Subscription, we show you its price, its Paid Period and how it renews.
7.2 Prices are in US dollars. We do not currently charge sales tax. If the law requires us to start, we email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
7.3 Stripe processes every payment, whether you subscribe on the web or from our apps. We do not see your card number.
7.4 Your first 7 days of Busybee are free, once per Account. On the web, the free week starts when your first bank finishes syncing, and you don’t need a card. In our apps, you start it by choosing a plan through Stripe Checkout, which takes your card and shows the date of your first payment, 7 days later. You can cancel before then without paying anything.
7.5 If your free week ends, or your Subscription ends without a new one, your banks stop updating and you can’t use the Service’s paid features. You can still use Settings, see and export your data and delete your Account. 7 days later, after emailing you, we end your bank connections and delete the Bank Data we hold. Your Account stays until you delete it or it is deleted for inactivity.
7.6 Your free week and each plan include a number of bank connections, shown in the Service. If you have more than yours includes, for example after changing plans, we tell you and you have 14 days to choose which to keep. After that we remove the most recently added connections and delete the data collected through them.
7.7 The founding price of US$90 a year applies to the first 50 annual Busybee Plus Subscriptions taken out by Accounts in the United States. It lasts while you stay on Busybee Plus annual. If you change plans or cancel, it ends and can’t be restored.
7.8 A Subscription renews automatically at the end of each Paid Period, and we charge the Fee for the next Paid Period, until you cancel.
7.9 You can cancel a Subscription online at any time, on the Plan page in Settings. When you cancel, you keep access to the paid features until the end of the current Paid Period and we do not charge you again.
7.10 If you ask within 14 days of your first payment for a Subscription, we refund that payment in full.
7.11 If we increase the price of your Subscription, we email you at least 30 days before the new price applies. The new price applies from your next Paid Period, so you can cancel before paying it.
7.12 We refund the unused part of any Paid Period you have paid for if we increase the price during it, change these Terms in a way that is to your detriment and you cancel as a result, end your Account when you are not at fault, or close the Service.
7.13 Apart from clauses 7.10, 7.12 and 13.2, Fees for a Paid Period that has started are not refundable, except where the law gives you a right to a refund.
8. Acceptable use
8.1 You must not:
(a) access or attempt to access another person’s Account or data;
(b) use automated means to access the Service, or to copy or collect information from it, other than the exports the Service provides;
(c) interfere with, or attempt to get around, the security of the Service;
(d) copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the Service, except to the extent the law permits despite this clause;
(e) resell the Service, or provide it to anyone else; or
(f) use the Service in breach of any law.
9. Intellectual property
9.1 We and our licensors own the Service, including its software, design and content. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the Service under these Terms while you hold an Account.
9.2 If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
10. Your data
10.1 Your data remains yours. You give us a license to store and process it only to provide the Service to you.
10.2 We never sell your information or share it for advertising. Our Privacy policy sets out what we collect, who receives it, where it is stored, how long we keep it, and how you can see, export, correct and delete it.
11. Disclaimers
11.1 We provide the Service as it is and as it is available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about the Service other than those in these Terms. In particular, we do not promise that the Service will always be available or free of errors, or that the information it shows will be complete or accurate, and we disclaim any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
11.2 Some laws, including the consumer protection laws of your state and, where it applies, the Australian Consumer Law, give you rights that a contract cannot exclude or limit. These Terms do not exclude or limit any of those rights.
12. Our liability
12.1 Subject to clause 11.2 and to the extent the law allows:
(a) we are not liable for any loss of profit or opportunity, or any indirect, consequential, special or punitive damages, arising from your use of the Service; and
(b) the most we are liable to pay you, for all claims connected with the Service together, is the greater of US$100 and the Fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event the claim is based on.
12.2 Clause 12.1 does not limit our liability for our fraud, our willful misconduct, or personal injury or death caused by our negligence. Some states do not allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
13. Changes to the Service and these Terms
13.1 We may change the Service and these Terms. We may make changes that are not to your detriment, such as fixing errors or adding features, at any time. We may also make a change at any time if the law or a security risk requires it, and we tell you about it as soon as we reasonably can.
13.2 For any other change to these Terms, or a change that materially reduces what the Service does, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect and explain the change. If you do not accept it, you can cancel before it takes effect and receive a refund of the unused part of any Paid Period you have paid for.
14. Ending the agreement
14.1 You can end this agreement at any time by deleting your Account in Settings, or through our delete your account page. Deleting your Account also cancels your Subscription.
14.2 We may suspend or end your Account:
(a) if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms;
(b) if it is reasonably necessary to protect the security of the Service or of other people’s data; or
(c) if the law requires it.
14.3 Where it is practicable, we tell you before we suspend or end your Account and give you an opportunity to respond. If we end your Account when you are not at fault, we refund the unused part of any Paid Period you have paid for.
14.4 We may close the Service, or stop offering it in the United States, by giving you at least 30 days’ notice by email, and we refund the unused part of any Paid Period you have paid for.
14.5 When your Account ends, we handle your data as our Privacy policy describes.
15. Transferring this agreement
15.1 We may transfer this agreement to a related business that will continue to provide the Service. We tell you by email before the transfer, and you can end the agreement under clause 14.1 if you do not want it to continue, in which case we refund the unused part of any Paid Period you have paid for.
15.2 You may not transfer this agreement or your Account to anyone else.
16. Questions and complaints
16.1 If you have a question or a complaint, email us at support@busybee.money and we will work with you to resolve it.
17. Notices
17.1 We give you notices by email to the address on your Account. You give us notices by email to support@busybee.money.
18. The website and the waitlist
18.1 If you use the website or join our waitlist without an Account, only this clause and clauses 9, 11, 12, 16, 17 and 19 apply to you.
18.2 The website is general information about Busybee. Features, plans and prices shown for a country where Busybee is not open yet are what we plan to offer there, and may change before it opens.
18.3 Nothing on the website is financial advice or a recommendation about any financial product.
18.4 You must not misuse the website, including by interfering with its security or operation, sending the waitlist form automatically or in bulk, or joining the waitlist with an email address you are not entitled to use.
18.5 Joining the waitlist is free. It does not create an Account, and it does not reserve a place, a price or an opening date. We send you one email when Busybee opens, as our Privacy policy describes, and you can leave the waitlist at any time by emailing privacy@busybee.money.
19. General
19.1 The law of New South Wales, Australia governs these Terms. The courts of New South Wales may hear any dispute about them, but not exclusively: you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the state where you live.
19.2 If any part of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, it is severed and the rest of these Terms continue to apply.
19.3 If we do not enforce a right under these Terms right away, we do not give up that right.
